Who we areIn Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.
As caretakers for Melbourne's water cycle, we care for water, life and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.
Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, run through a backyard sprinkler, or kayak down the Yarra, we're there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world's cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.
If you value making it count, diving in with curiosity, and doing what's right, you're in the right place.
About the RoleDo you thrive in a role where strategy meets service, and buildings meet brilliance? Melbourne Water is looking for a Manager Logistics to lead the charge in shaping our facilities, stores, and accommodation strategy — with a sharp eye for compliance, customer service, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the General Manager Works Delivery, you'll be the architect of operational excellence across Melbourne Water's facilities and logistics landscape.
What you'll lead:
- Facility Futures: Lead the development and review of building services to ensure they're fit-for-purpose, reliable, and ready for what's next.
- Standard Setter: Shape and refine facilities standards and strategies that meet building codes and drive efficiency.
- Compliance Champion: Provide expert guidance on building regulations and Essential Safety Measures (ESM) — keeping us safe and audit-ready.
- Asset Alignment: Integrate facilities, stores, and building assets with our broader asset management philosophy.
- Stores Supervision: Ensure best practice and standardisation in stores functionality across our operations.
- Customer First: Deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders — from daily operations to emerging trends in facilities and logistics.
- Compliance Leadership: Own annual compliance attestations with confidence and clarity.
- Capital Planning: Lead the development of Business Cases for Facilities Capital Renewals — prioritising projects that matter.
- Accommodation Strategy: Operationalise our accommodation needs with a focus on compliance, safety, and smart space planning.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation across stores, buildings, and service delivery logistics.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets for facilities maintenance, logistics operations, and minor capital programs.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to leadership who can work in fast paced environments.
- Experienced in project management/facilities or logistics
- Demonstrated Knowledge of compliance standards
- A customer-focused communicator who builds strong relationships across the board.
- Results-oriented and tenacious.
At Melbourne Water, we care about water and all life that springs from it.
Our people are fuelled by passion, and with safety at the forefront, we have an unwavering sense of purpose, and are on a mission to protect every Melburnian's way of life, one drop at a time.
