Summary

Summary: Responsible for providing all necessary administrative and clerical support to the Director of Public Safety.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

  • Composes, transcribes and types correspondence, memos, reports, statistical data, and other miscellaneous paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepares and maintains mail, files, correspondence, reports and departmental records.
  • Advises Director of all relevant or important information pertaining to the responsibilities of the department or the operation of the Casino.
  • Places and receives telephone communications in a cordial and helpful tone of voice, taking accurate messages as needed, and relays message as appropriate.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled department meetings.
  • Assists departmental Director/Managers/Supervisors as necessary.
  • Provides support for reception, and other Administrative Assistants as necessary.
  • Orders supplies and other materials for the department.
  • Creates flyers, posters, and other display materials as necessary.
  • Posts information and data on Casino intranet.
  • Maintains calendars and reserves Conference Room, and Training Room for meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years clerical experience.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must possess excellent working knowledge of computer programs and applications (Microsoft Office products preferred).
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to Guests, Team Members and vendors.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • May be required to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license and a Black Oak Casino driver's permit.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
Physical Demands
  • Required to lift 20 lbs and occasionally more with assistance.
Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
