SUMMARY: Responsible for dispatching Officers to calls, distribution of information, logging of events, and the operation of non-gaming surveillance equipment.
Responsibilities- Operates dispatch and surveillance equipment.
- Coordinates response to calls and emergency situations.
- Facilitates the flow of information by attending daily shift pass downs.
- Ensures proper notifications are made in regard to emergency situations, or as directed.
- Enters accurate data into computer-aided dispatching systems (CAD).
- Develops reports from information gathered from various reporting systems.
- Conducts video reviews and investigates incidents.
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental policy and procedures.
- Assists Public Safety Officers as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to type 30 words per minute.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with various computer applications.
- Ability to learn new computer software.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to read electronic display panels on devices such as radios, cellular telephones, alarm systems, public address systems, etc.
- Must be familiar with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing the Casino.
- Must be familiar with Public Safety Department Policies and Procedures and have passed the training program within the introductory period.
- Must be knowledgeable of Public Safety Officer duties.
- Must be able to keep up with fast-paced atmosphere and work under pressure.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, understand and retain information communicated via radio, email, telephone, or in person.
- Must be able to communicate using fixed or portable 2-way radios, land line, or cellular telephone.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
- Must be able to lift and push/pull at least 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
- Must have visual acuity of 20/20 with corrective lenses.
- Must be physically able to perform all job requirements including intricate manipulation of controls, walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
- May be required to wear protective equipment such as mask, earplugs, gloves, eyewear, weather gear, etc.
- Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Required to work around moving machinery with possible exposure to vibration, dust, gas, steam or chemicals.
- Potential exposure to hostile situations.
- Required to walk on uneven ground.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.
