Lead in crafting data flow at MYOB, building pipelines, championing quality, making data impactful.

You'll guide a high-performing team, set technical direction, and collaborate across product, tech, and AI. This is your chance to drive innovation, unlock insights, and help power the next generation of data-driven experiences.

The Role

As an integral member of the Data and AI team, this is an outstanding opportunity to:

- Coordinate and guide the design, development, and execution of MYOB's data & AI platforms.

- Lead and encourage a team of engineers, setting technical direction, championing standard methodologies, and ensuring seamless integration of platform services into consumer software and data workflows.

- Work closely with collaborators from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to establish platform performance indicators aligned with business goals and operational SLOs, and take charge of implementing service measurement tools and metrics.

- Collaborate with peers in Data & AI to develop the platform roadmap and ensure platform support for MYOB's landscape of data products and AI services.

- Offer tools for MYOB to handle batch and stream data efficiently and build data products for internal and customer-facing use.

- Balance technical oversight with mentoring and developing your team, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in platform engineering practices.

- Build and uphold systems for data quality, security, privacy, and governance, ensuring trusted and compliant data use.

- Champion continuous improvement to lift the team's efficiency, capability, and impact.

What You'll Bring

- Technical expertise: Expert in the design, build, and operation of scalable software services and platforms, supporting good practice.

- Proven software engineering chops, including TDD, clean code practices, and hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps.

- Leadership excellence: Foster a collaborative, innovative team environment passionate about capability development and achieving strategic goals.

- Strategic impact: Align effort to enhance business outcomes while ensuring key cross-functional requirements and hygiene factors are satisfied.

Great collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across business, product, and technology teams.

- User-centricity: Champion solution developer experience and integration with platform consumer workflows across software, data, and ML engineering, and analytics.

Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless solution delivery and operations.

- Quality approach: Implementing robust practices for software and data quality, consistency, and governance, ensuring standards compliance.

- Strong business insight, with exposure to data needs across finance, customer, and product.

AI/ML enablement experience, supporting GenAI and machine learning use cases, including MLOps integration.

- Inspiring leadership, with proven experience growing and mentoring high-performing data engineering teams.

- Desired: Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related field with relevant certifications (e.g., AWS)
