We have an opportunity for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our close-knit team within Group Risk and Assurance here at Service Stream. You will have the ability to bring your own ideas and shape the role. Reporting to and supported by the General Manager, Risk & Assurance, you will play a crucial role in maturing our compliance program. This role is based at our modern Melbourne Head Office, across from Southern Cross Station, featuring a balcony, BBQ area, collaborative and quiet spaces, and an abundance of natural light.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Service Stream's enterprise regulatory and compliance framework including compliance programs and policies. Whilst this role is predominately hands-on, you will also have exposure to strategy and sustainability.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain Service Stream's regulatory and compliance framework encompassing policies, programs, processes and systems.
• Lead compliance reviews, risk assessments, and monitor business activities to foster a culture of compliance.
• Be the subject matter expert on regulatory requirements, assist in engaging with Regulators and Legal Advisors, and support compliance-related reporting.
• Provide guidance and support to business units on compliance responsibilities and facilitate documentation in the Compliance Management Information System.
• Maintain and improve the national licensing and accreditation platform, and act as the primary contact with regulatory bodies for licensing and accreditation requirements.
• Liaising with the business units to understand the current and future works and services being delivered and the compliance requirements associated with each.
• Oversee compliance activities, including licensing and accreditation, and assist in preparing Board and Audit & Risk Committee papers.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of regulatory, compliance and assurance, with the ability to engage with and influence a variety of stakeholders. You will also have:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior compliance, controls or audit function in a large organisation.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and advise the business in written and verbal form on related requirements.
• Ability to understand the delivery methodology and technical requirements for the works and services performed by the Business Units and their subcontractors including OHS requirements (exposure to construction or infrastructure would be beneficial but not essential).
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively engage with key partners in the business.
• Strong accountability and a collaborative attitude.
• University degree in Legal, Finance, Commerce or related field is highly desirable.
