Ideal candidates will bring relevant technical expertise, enthusiasm for a dynamic and evolving environment, and a track record of supporting stakeholders to achieve outstanding risk, compliance and governance outcomes.
Due to growth in the team, we are seeking Senior Compliance Managers to work across a range of initiatives to help Bupa to meet its legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
In these newly created roles, you will work closely with Line 1, 2 and 3 colleagues on tasks such as to: Develop, implement and continuously improve compliance frameworks, including the APAC Conduct Framework and Compliance Management Framework.
Support business-as-usual functions such as compliance obligations management, reporting and data analysis, regulatory change, and conflicts of interest disclosures.
Conduct reviews and assurance activities on a range of compliance matters.
Provide oversight and reporting on compliance incidents and breaches.
Deliver training, communications and business partnering support to help teams navigate emerging compliance challenges.
Maintain FAR artefacts and support Accountable Persons in meeting their responsibilities.
The Senior Compliance Manager will provide compliance support across the Bupa APAC businesses, including Health Insurance, Health Care, Aged Care and Blua.
A one-size-fits-all approach is rarely practicable; the right candidate will thrive in ambiguity and will need to hit the ground running with a 'hands-on' approach to learning the ropes.
Reporting to the General Manager - Compliance or General Manager – Conduct (depending on the role) these new roles will have an APAC regional focus, supporting Bupa's diverse businesses across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
We anticipate you'll be a seasoned Manager looking to step into a Senior Manager role, or a Senior Manager looking to broaden their experience in a welcoming team that supports flexible working.
This position is offered as permanent, full-time and may be based at our Melbourne or Sydney offices with flexible, hybrid work arrangements available.
Part-time applicants considered.
What do I need? We are seeking professionals with 5-7 years of practical experience in highly regulated environments, such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential, and the successful applicant will be able to strategically apply these to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
In addition, you'll bring to the role: tertiary qualifications in risk & compliance, law, business, or a related field experience in developing governance, risk and/or compliance frameworks the ability to shift approach based on the size and maturity of a business, to provide fit-for-purpose, practical advice, and drive processes that add value and protect our customers strong knowledge of obligation management sound commercial acumen and proven ability to achieve 'compliance by design' experience in presenting to and influencing senior audiences strong analytical, written and verbal skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful management information proven effective stakeholder management skills, modelling Bupa's values – Brave, Caring and Responsible.
