Overview

Fabrication Apprenticeship (Pipefitter) – Osborne. At BAE Systems Australia. The company is leading the Hunter Class Frigate Program and has a digitally advanced naval shipyard in Osborne.

We are accepting applications for our 2026 apprenticeship program commencing in February. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in the shipyard while completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricating a variety of materials.
  • Learning different types of welding processes.
  • Develop knowledge of fabrication codes and standards.
  • Applying health and safety processes in the workplace.
  • Contributing to improving business culture with regards to people, process and systems.

  • An ability to work individually and collaborate with others as part of a team.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Behaviours that demonstrate integrity, respect, and honesty.
  • A positive outlook and enthusiasm to grow and develop in your chosen field.
  • Initiative to problem solve and proactively engage in the tasks of your role.
