Six Degrees Executive is proudly partnering with Gym BOD, a founder-led business transforming the "better for you" category by offering premium protein-centric desserts that don't compromise on taste.

As the company enters an exciting growth phase with a relocation to Melbourne, a new role has been created to lead product development and innovation. This role inherits a successful, nationally distributed portfolio and aims to drive it into its next phase, embodying a "start-up with scale" mentality.

About the role

This newly created position will oversee the commercialization process and innovation strategy, collaborating across the business to ensure ideas are critically evaluated, developed, and brought to market. The role is the custodian of the Stage Gate process, ensuring commercial viability of NPD projects across frozen, chilled, and ambient products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with in-house and co-manufacturing partners on line extensions, renovations, and flavor rotations.
  • Initially a standalone role with management potential and opportunities to grow the innovation function.
  • Gaining real-time exposure to the commercial aspects of the business, including major customers, retailers, and R&D budget management.
What we are looking for

This role suits a well-rounded innovation/NPD leader with experience moving from hands-on development to strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be comfortable with commercial conversations involving retailers and suppliers, familiar with manufacturing partnerships and range reviews.
  • Be willing to get involved in detailed aspects such as COGS, value creation, and packaging, with strong product and project management skills.
  • Have exposure to dairy or other relevant categories, which is considered a bonus.
  • Be an existing functional manager or a subject matter expert ready to own their space within a larger team.
