Senior Mechanical Engineer

Major Mining Projects across Australia require experienced engineers to lead and mentor Mechanical Teams.
About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our client on the Gold Coast. In this leadership role, you will provide technical direction and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design to detailed engineering and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Mechanical Team to ensure high-quality engineering solutions from initial concept to final implementation.
- Assist with plant equipment design, including Cementitious Paste Fill, Mine De-watering, and various Mechanical Systems.
- Oversee pressure piping design and develop data sheets for mechanical equipment.
- Ensure all designs meet local and national codes and industry standards.
- Prepare technical reports and review deliverables for accuracy and quality.
- Support tender submissions, ensuring compliance and technical excellence.
- Review manufacturer's data reports and vendor documentation for suitability and compliance.
- Collaborate with drafters to create detailed engineering drawings.
- Contribute to technical standards and best practices development.
- Play a key role in preparing fee proposals and maintaining client relationships.
- Foster strong business network relationships for long-term success.
- Perform site inspections across Australia as required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering consultant environment.
- Strong communication skills with cross-functional team collaboration ability.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred or actively working towards it.
- Proven project management and coordination skills with successful project delivery record.
- Previous EPC/EPCM sector experience in the mining industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality documentation standards.
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to define project requirements and develop solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Masters' Degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable.
- Australian-recognised Mechanical Engineering degree meeting Engineers Australia Chartered membership requirements.
