Business Events (BE) Perth is the peak industry body responsible for marketing Western Australia as a destination for conventions, corporate meetings and incentive travel groups.

We are looking for a self-motivated, focused individual with a high level of attention for detail to join our Marketing and Communications team.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, and delivery of BE Perth's communications strategy to elevate Western Australia's profile as a premium business events destination. This role plays a supportive part in strengthening the organisation's brand, reputation, and messaging through the creation and distribution of high-quality communications content across traditional, digital, and social media channels.

Working collaboratively across all teams, the role will ensure consistent and compelling communication that supports the organisation's objectives and KPIs. The role requires exceptional writing and editing skills, strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a strategic mindset to deliver integrated communications that promote BE Perth's values and position the organisation and destination as a global leader in business events.

What You'll Do…

• Coordinate and create engaging written and visual content across a range of platforms to promote BE Perth's value and enhance its reputation with key stakeholders and clients.
• Coordinate BE Perth's social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, ensuring content is consistent, timely, and aligned with the organisation's voice and brand.
• Support the planning and production of marketing materials, including web copy, EDMs, newsletters, media releases, digital assets, and visual content, in collaboration with the Director Marketing and members of the Marketing and Communications team.
• Monitor media and social media channels to identify opportunities that enhance BE Perth's visibility and reputation.
• Assist in delivering communications activity for BE Perth's advocacy programs, such as Aspire, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain an awareness of current news and developments relevant to the business events sector by regularly monitoring media and industry updates.
• Draft media releases, letters of support, scripts, and other communications materials under the guidance of the Director Marketing.

• Strong written and verbal communication ability.
• High level of computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe suite.
• Excellent organisational ability and time management skills.
• A high attention to detail and the ability to assist with multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to be a positive contributor to the team environment.
• Willingness to take on adhoc projects as required by the organisation to deliver business goals.
  
  

Qualifications…

Relevant qualifications in media, communications, marketing, tourism and/or public relations area are desirable for this role.

This position is well suited to a recent graduate with approximately two years of combined experience through internships, work placements, or part-time roles in marketing and communications. It offers the opportunity to apply foundational skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, while further developing expertise in content creation, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement. The role's focus on coordination, copywriting, and campaign support provides a strong next step for someone looking to transition from early career experience into a full-time, communications role.
