This is your opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation that truly makes a difference to Australians.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting time for us as we have created a brand new Legal & Business Affairs Operations Specialist position within our Legal & Business Affairs team. This role sits at the intersection of law, media rights and commercial operations, supporting some of our most high-profile and high-value partnerships and strategic initiatives. You will champion the operational excellence of our Legal & Business Affairs function: from managing delivery of media rights entitlements and legal systems, to driving innovation through technology and AI, and supporting governance, player contracting and financial processes.

If you're a detail-driven, solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about the dynamic world of sport, media, and legal considerations, we want to hear from you. We have big ambitions for this space, and we're looking for someone with the energy, curiosity, and drive to help us deliver brilliant experiences for our stakeholders and unlock new commercial opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of Legal – Media Rights, Broadcast & Digital, you'll be responsible for:

  • Media Rights & Commercial Operations: Managing the delivery of contractual entitlements, supporting media rights sales processes, negotiations and strategic rights programs and identifying new revenue opportunities.
  • Technology & Innovation: Managing and maintaining our legal portal, exploring AI capabilities within the portal to ensure best practice legal operations, maintaining global rights databases and coordinating automation of player contracting processes.
  • Administrative & Team Support: Providing administrative support across the Legal & Business Affairs team, including organising meetings, drafting presentations, reports and player contracting documentation.
  • Governance & Compliance: Maintaining policy and procedure registers, assisting with company secretary duties and leading our archive retention, reduction and digitisation initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Preparing budget documentation, processing invoices, providing advice on budget deployment and assisting with managing the financial obligations between Cricket Australia and our partners.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, or Sport Administration (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with sports broadcasting rights and intellectual property desirable
  • Experience in contract management, legal administration, or commercial operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts spanning a range of countries, cultures and time zones
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to independently prioritise tasks based on highest value/risk/urgency and adhere to timelines
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and thorough approach to tasks
  • Experience in using contract and document management systems
  • A passion for implementing new technologies and AI into business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to timelines
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • A highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • A 'can do' attitude and desire to be an integral member of a high-achieving, respected and welcoming LBA team
  • A passion to understand and interpret the global media rights landscape

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

Our employees at Cricket Australia are gifted an additional week of leave at the end of the season. As a Cricket Australia employee, you will also have other benefits including:

  • Tickets to the Cricket for you to take your friends and family and experience Australia's favourite game
  • A flexible working environment, meaning we strike the balance of what you need and what works for the business (this isn't limited to working remotely)
  • Discounts from our partners such as ASICS and salary packaging options
  • A multitude of leave types including paid parental leave and volunteer leave
