Job Description

As a Kitchen Hand at Gosford RSL Club, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of The Gardens Eatery. This casual position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of our kitchen while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, including dishes, utensils, and work surfaces
  • Emptying garbage bins and disposing of waste in a safe and responsible manner
  • Operating dishwashing equipment efficiently
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment, which involves changing oils and cleaning
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Working collaboratively with kitchen staff to meet service requirements
  • On occasion assisting the Chefs with basic food preparation
  • Following instructions and performing other duties as assigned by Senior Kitchen Staff
Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

  • Shifts will vary - you may be starting at 8am and working a day shift, or working a mid-shift starting at 10am through to 6pm, or on night shift starting around 3pm and working through to 11pm/12am. Reliable transport is a must
  • Shifts will vary across 7 days of the week and at various times noted above. We are looking for someone with excellent availability and flexibility.
  • Attention to detail and a strong passion for maintaining a hygienic environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen setting
  • Ability to take direction from Senior Kitchen staff
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform physical work involving bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling is required for this role
