A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced and qualified Art Therapist to join the Montefiore on a permanent part time basis. This position will complement our dedicated and extensive client engagement department and work closely with our diverse allied health staff.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Holistically develop and maintain better practice art therapy programs
  • Establish and coordinate outcome based therapeutic art programs
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for resident care needs
  • Masters in Art Therapy or equivalent
  • Be eligible for membership of ANZACATA and comply with the professional standards of the Creative Therapy profession
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff (e.g. volunteers, students etc.)
  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal skills)
  • Operate effectively in a team and autonomously
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
  • Computer skills across a range of programs include Microsoft Word and Excel

Desired Criteria:

  • Experience working in an aged care setting
  • Experience in therapeutic care planning

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work within a team and have a passion and genuine desire to work with an older population. Previous experience working within aged care and with people living with dementia will be highly regarded.
