The primary role of a Disability Support Worker, also known as a personal support worker, is to provide assistance to individuals with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. They help disabled individuals perform basic hygiene tasks, such as bathing and brushing teeth, as well as daily living tasks like cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Disability Support Workers may also be responsible for transporting individuals to therapy or doctor appointments, shopping, and completing other chores.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist people with important daily activities
  2. Facilitate personal hygiene and dressing tasks
  3. Perform home-based tasks such as food preparation and housework
  4. Support outside activities like shopping and appointments
  5. Ensure a varied program of social activities
  6. Provide emotional support and companionship
  7. Help prepare meals and promote healthy eating (essential)
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and detail-oriented
  • Strong listening and oral communication skills
  • Patience, passion for helping others, and teamwork skills
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a support worker
  • Attach a resume
  • Must be double vaccinated
  • NDIS screening and Orientation Module
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license with comprehensive insurance
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Fluent verbal and written English
Additional Requirements:
  • Support work experience is essential
  • Ability to pass relevant background checks (e.g., Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening)
  • Legal right to work in Australia
