Network System Engineer

A$90,000.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr

Are you a hands-on IT professional who thrives on managing complex infrastructure and keeping systems secure?

We're looking for a Network and Systems Engineer to join our team in a critical individual contributor role. You'll take ownership of our core IT infrastructure – from networks and servers to cloud environments – with cybersecurity embedded at every level.

What You'll Be Doing

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/VPN/Wi-Fi)
• Manage servers, storage, and virtualisation environments (Windows/Linux, VMware/Hyper-V)
• Support hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS), including identity and access management
• Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
• Implement and maintain firewalls, endpoint protection, encryption, and patching processes
• Maintain documentation for systems, incidents, and infrastructure changes
• Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity readiness
• Conduct risk assessments and support compliance (ISO 27001, ASD Essential Eight, etc.)

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and network/system administration
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity operations and best practices
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
• Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise security tools
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
• Certifications such as ITIL, Azure Microsoft, or similar (preferred)
