Location: Mount Isa, Queensland. The Dyno Nobel Sulphuric Acid Plant operates within IPL's Mount Isa facilities, converting sulphur dioxide into sulphuric acid to support fertiliser production and environmental compliance.

The Role

Working on rosters that suit you (4/3, 7/7 or 8/6), reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical training and mentoring to a team of Process Technicians to help meet production volumes and targets safely.
  • Resolving operating issues as they arise.
  • managing maintenance notifications and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

A results-driven, quality-focused team player with solid mentoring and knowledge-based skills. You should be able to build strong professional relationships, promote standardised operating practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • You must be committed to contributing to a safe, inclusive and high-performance culture.
  • Experience in a training role is preferred; experience in Chemical, Oil & Gas, Sugar, Power Generation, Acid Plant or related heavy continuous process environments is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and ownership of the role and the people you train.
  • Minimum qualification: TAE40116 or TAE40122 or equivalent; advanced qualifications in Training and Assessment are desirable.
  • Keep TAE qualifications current per AQF and relevant legislation/standards; meet affiliate RTO requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar training role or related field; experience in mining, manufacturing or industrial environments.
