VC Maintenance, part of the well-known Vassallo Group, are now looking for an experienced and qualified Workshop Manager to be based at our Mackay Workshop.

About the role
As Workshop Manager at VC Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the servicing, repair and maintenance of the company's mobile and fixed plant equipment as well as providing insight for fault-finding & diagnostics to assist the prevention of breakdowns or unexpected down-time of machinery. You will be required to provide leadership, guidance and decision making for workshop operations, and manage field service, and workshop staff to ensure delivery outcomes within timeframe and budget.
The business is currently taking on additional clients and diversifying the markets we service. We are looking for someone to help continue our growth in a sustainable way.
This is a permanent full time position based at our Mackay Workshop.
Position Requirements
Schedule maintenance and service of company machinery, allocating resources to complete tasks.
Ability to liaise with all Key Stakeholders, both internal and external including Suppliers, Sales Representatives and other business divisions.
Managing purchasing and quoting for parts and services.
Initiate and plan workshop team meetings and provide leadership and guidance for the workshop operations.
Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Keep maintenance costs on track while supporting operational needs
About You:
Prior experience leading and managing workshop teams and operations
Trade qualified Diesel Fitter or proven experience in similar role
Experience with quarry, mining, civil, trucks, or light vehicle equipment preferred
Have a strong focus on safety and quality control
Be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
Be experienced in setting and tracking workshop KPIs including utilisation, rework, and profitability
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders and customers with professionalism, discretion and confidence.
