The Role

Keen to work in an office that's just five minutes from the world-famous Cable Beach? The Kimberley is a unique part of northern WA, multicultural, vibrant and the kind of place that people around the world dream of living.

We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic, experienced reporter to join our local team in Broome. The role involves some shift and weekend work and will see you chasing stories right across the stunning landscapes and unique communities of south west Western Australia.

Working together with one of the most experienced, dedicated teams in Regional WA, you\'ll create news content for broadcast, social media and online platforms to engage and inform audiences in the region and across the country.

Do you aim high? Think differently? We\'re looking for an experienced journalist who can deliver distinctive, relevant and impactful stories for a Western Australian audience. Working effectively within the Broome office, coordinating output with the state and national news desks, you\'ll also deliver digital news content, radio news bulletins, Q&As, interviews, live crosses, and TV news packages.

About You

You will be a journalist with strong editorial skills and proven experience with breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment.

You Will Also Have
  • Well-developed cross-platform and video production skills.
  • Confident broadcast presentation skills including live presentation.
  • Demonstrated news writing skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of content strategy and audience demands.
  • Current valid driver\'s license.
