Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.
The RoleThe successful applicant will be responsible for managing the Operational and Scientific aspects of Anatomical Pathology department at NTPS. The successful applicant will work closely with the Laboratory manager, NTPS and with HOD, Anatomical Pathology in realising the departmental objectives. The Scientist in charge is also expected to provide expert scientific advice to clinical staff at LGH in matters pertaining to Anatomical Pathology.
You will need- Good understanding of Anatomical pathology workflows, with proficiency in Histology and/or Cytology
- Prior experience in managing teams will be considered an advantage
- Post graduate qualification will be considered advantageous
