The Team: Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania.

We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania.

NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests.

The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists The Role: The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the Operational and Scientific aspects of Anatomical Pathology department at NTPS.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Laboratory manager, NTPS and with HOD, Anatomical Pathology in realising the departmental objectives.

The Scientist in charge is also expected to provide expert scientific advice to clinical staff at LGH in matters pertaining to Anatomical Pathology.

You will need: Good understanding of Anatomical pathology workflows, with proficiency in Histology and/or Cytology Prior experience in managing teams will be considered an advantage Post graduate qualification will be considered advantageous Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.

Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum.

Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022 Salary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances: Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum Benefits Available To Eligible Candidates Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
