Our vision is simple yet powerful: Healthy People – Strong Communities – Bright Futures.
About the Opportunities
BRAMS is looking for a full-time Speech Pathologist based in Broome, WA.
As the new Speech Pathologist, you will join the Allied Health Team within the Community Services division, to provide culturally responsive, evidence-based clinical services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults and children. Clients are funded through the NDIS, Aged Care, or MBS programs, with services delivered in community-based settings, including homes and BRAMS facilities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivering comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to meet holistic care goals
- Supporting clients, carers, and families with health education and literacy
- Coordinating care plans and referrals with internal and external providers
- Maintaining accurate case documentation in line with privacy and compliance standards
- Promoting Speech Pathology services within the organisation and community
- Participating in ongoing clinical quality, governance, and improvement initiatives
About You
To qualify, you will need a minimum of a graduate or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology, current Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) registration and membership, and a minimum of 3 years experience working as a Speech Pathologist.
Additionally, the following will be highly regarded:
- Experience in Aboriginal health or within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
- Prior work in disability or aged care sectors
- Familiarity with the BRAMS Model of Care or similar frameworks
- Ability to operate independently in regional or remote healthcare settings
- Effective communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills
- Confidence using clinical information systems and managing caseloads
Please note: Prior to commencement, you will need the following:
- National Police Clearance
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current Driver's License
- NDIS Worker Screening
As our ideal candidate, you will be a culturally sensitive, adaptable, and empathetic practitioner, capable of working independently while thriving in a close-knit, multidisciplinary team. You will need strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, as well as the flexibility to operate in a non-mainstream, community-based health environment serving predominantly Aboriginal clients.
You will demonstrate a proven commitment to the principles of primary health care while also possessing a comprehensive understanding of the health concerns impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Maintaining flexibility in your approach to care can help ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment and support.
About the Benefits
This position is an incredibly rare opportunity to join a well-established and supported Aboriginal Medical Service in a pivotal role. BRAMS is an organisation that truly values its team and is committed to improving employee knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, staff development programs are not only encouraged but are often paid for by BRAMS.
In addition to the opportunity to cement your career, you'll be rewarded with a highly attractive remuneration package, a base salary of circa $113,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience), plus super and benefits including;
- Salary sacrificing up to $15,900 annually
- Relocation allowance (up to $5,000)
- 6 weeks Annual Leave
- Access to clinical and management supervision contracts
Working closely with patients, their families, and carers, this is a role where you will witness the direct positive impact you're making in the community, as part of a close-knit team. You will be continually recognised for your dedication and hard work
