About the role
GrainCorp is currently seeking a Category Manager - Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations (MRO) to join our Procurement team. In this critical role, you will develop and deliver the MRO procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with GrainCorp's broader business goals. You will be responsible for driving sustainable sourcing initiatives, optimizing procurement processes, and managing supplier relationships to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements. This role can be based at our offices in either Queensland, Victoria, or Sydney. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading MRO category procurement strategies aligned with business needs and sustainability goals
  2. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to support business requirements and ensure successful project outcomes
  3. Managing procurement for Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations, leveraging best practices and process improvements
  4. Managing supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and performance to drive continuous improvement and cost reductions
  5. Implementing responsible sourcing strategies that meet environmental and ethical standards

About your experience
Candidates will have prior experience in a Category Manager role, ideally with a Maintenance and Operations focused portfolio. Candidates will also display:

  1. Strong experience in MRO processes and best practices
  2. Demonstrated experience in procurement category management
  3. Experience with responsible sourcing and driving sustainability initiatives within procurement
  4. Excellent supplier management and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to deliver results
