Base pay range

A$110,000.00/yr - A$115,000.00/yr

Crystel Care is an innovative allied health service founded in Adelaide that provides support to participants with a range of needs including complex disability and psychosocial needs.

Due to our growing client base, we are seeking a Behavioral Support Practitioner to join our team in Mount Gambier.

You will have a $12.5k Living allowance, allowing you to travel from Melbourne or Adelaide

About the role:

This is an onsite role as a Behavioral Support Practitioner at Crystel Care in our Mount Gambier Area. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing complex behavioral support to our clients. Your tasks will include assessing client needs, developing and implementing appropriate interventions, and collaborating with other team members to ensure effective care and support.

We are open to all working types, Part Time/Full Time or Casual, and graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated ability to empathize, educate, and engage with clients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Implementing behavior therapy programs through engaging directly with clients, parents/caregivers/support workers.
  • Supporting implementing providers to deliver and implement strategies.
  • Working directly with families and clients to provide support as needed
  • Attending meetings around clients when required to inform client program and progress as directed by the Lead Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Resources preparation or organization of items/resources that inform therapeutic programming as directed by the Lead Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Collaborating with families to obtain feedback on implemented treatment plans and the client's progress.
  • Engaging effectively and respectfully with clients who may exhibit behaviors of concern.
  • Ensuring client case notes and data are consistently recorded within the Crystel Care database.
  • Liaising closely with the Director of Behaviour Support and Lead Behaviour Support Practitioner around client progress, PBSP progress, and therapy sessions regularly to ensure program fidelity and collaboration around ongoing behavior therapy goals.
  • Maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with all allocated clients.
  • Working collaboratively towards the provision of a multi-disciplinary approach with other allied health professionals.
  • Providing safe, effective, and efficient implementation of direct care per established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and continuous learning – ensuring up-to-date knowledge of practices and strategies within the professional field of behavioral support.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in line with the Code of Conduct and comply with all Crystel Care Policies and Procedures.
Skills:
  • Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with clients with a lifelong disability.
  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
  • Experience in working with disabilities
  • Excellent knowledge of the NDIS framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Qualifications and relevant experience in the respective field (Behaviour Support, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Developmental Education, or Minecraft Therapy)
  • Responding to abuse and neglect training
  • First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS workers' screening check
  • Working With Children Check
  • Police Clearance
  • Drivers License
