Hands-on role with autonomy and variety, in a small team, with decision making authority

We are seeking a proactive and capable Facilities Manager to join the team responsible for the operations of a major master planned industrial estate in Brisbane. This is a diverse and dynamic role where you will oversee the management and maintenance of a portfolio of approximately 45 industrial buildings and estate wide infrastructure utility services, as well as being the primary point of contact for tenants and their leasing issues.

This position is ideal for a mature person who thrives in a small office environment, works well with autonomy, enjoys variety and diverse tasks in their workday.

About the Role
  • Coordinating and overseeing scheduled and reactive maintenance of buildings and utility services
  • Managing preventative maintenance programs and service maintenance contracts
  • Maintaining estate-wide utility infrastructure, including water, sewer and a high voltage electrical network, landscaping, building HVAC services, fire sprinklers, various mechanical plant, plumbing, roofing, security services
  • Manage contractor works from initiation through to completion
  • Liaising with tenants as the main point of contact for maintenance and lease management issues
  • Creating and managing a software based asset maintenance and management system
  • Some after hours calls required on emergency occasions
  • Office based role performing a variety of tasks as part of a small and agile team
About You
  • We're looking for someone who can take the initiative, operate independently and bring strong attention to detail to the role. You will be comfortable managing both the operational and administrative aspects of facilities management, dealing with trades and tenants alike.
  • Previous experience in facilities, trade or property background, with minimum 5 – 10 years in facilities and/or property management roles
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Self directed and always follows through diligently on all tasks from start to finish, with ownership of all responsibilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills and experience with a maintenance or asset management software system
  • Honest, dependable, trustworthy and reliable
  • Ability to work confidently and independently within a small office team
  • Stay calm and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Work for a well-established private developer and asset owner
  • Direct access to organisational decision maker with decisions made quickly, without bureaucratic hierarchies
  • Being part of a stable and respected industrial estate project
