Senior Technical Operator - Industrial. Permanent, full-time role with competitive remuneration and benefits. Location: Australia, Queensland, Murarrie. On-site with a supportive, collaborative team. Shift hours: 6:00am to 2:00pm (level of flexibility required). Career growth within a growing industry. Role type: Supervisory technical role assisting the Team Leader with leadership responsibilities, process improvement, and broad operational oversight.
What You Will Do- Supervise shift operations in a small team fabricating electronic RFID readers
- Monitor and support factory performance, machinery operation, and quality inspection
- Troubleshoot machinery and respond promptly to operator requests
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning
- Promote production KPIs such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and waste reduction
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental Health & Safety policies and proactively report hazards
- Assist the Team Leader with task planning and technician support
- Complete production reports and maintain clear communication and records
- Maintain production area tidiness aligned with 5S and Lean manufacturing principles
- Raise maintenance issues promptly and monitor product quality, isolating defects
- Report disruptions and recommend improvements to procedures, machinery, and training
- Lead improvement initiatives and support performance management and training
- Assist with BOM maintenance, assembly work orders, and product serial management
- Experience managing teams in production preferred but not essential (full training provided)
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Emotional intelligence, empathy, resilience, and adaptability
- Ability to collaborate across teams and demonstrate inclusive behaviours
- High ethical standards and responsible use of company assets
