Overview

Senior Manager, Legal Services - Research & Education role at Monash University. Location: Melbourne - primarily Clayton campus (Hybrid). Employment Type: Full-time. Remuneration: A competitive remuneration package will apply with 17% employer superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a senior lawyer and legal lead for one of the world's top universities, with a global impact.
  • Provide diverse and complex legal work within a dynamic and collaborative team.
  • Lead with a focus on practical, timely, high-quality legal advice and services across research and education law matters.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements, manage complex transactions and projects, and advise internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a team of legal professionals, contribute to service delivery improvements, and ensure the legal function operates with excellence and integrity in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Qualified legal practitioner with at least 10 years of post-admission experience (indicative).
  • Deep technical expertise in intellectual property, research development and/or the higher education regulatory space.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills; ability to manage complex matters independently and work with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation is highly regarded.
