The job:

This role will be responsible for the safe and efficient inspection, cleaning and/or bird-proofing of solar panel arrays, and the safe cleaning of roof gutters and valleys. Work will be carried out predominantly in residential environment, however some work will be done in commercial/ industrial sites where more people and mobile equipment may be present, and more stringent safety precautions and processes need to be adhered to and followed.

Role starts as casual $32 - $35 per hour, 38 hours per week.

Will lead to full time role for the right candidate.

Work from Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Hunter and Newcastle

Duties:

  • Carry out risk assessments of work environment prior to commencing work.
  • Liaise with clients and other staff to ensure all work is done, and all safety measures are put into place.
  • Carryout cleaning, inspections and bird-proofing of solar panel arrays.
  • Carryout cleaning of roof gutters and valleys.
  • Complete reports including capturing photos – typically done on mobile phone or tablet.
  • Ensure follow-up and corrective action items are reported.

Qualifications/Skills (essential):

  • Working at Heights Training (RIIWHS204E).
  • White Card (CPCWHS1001).
  • Able to use Apple iPhone/iPad.
  • Basic Microsoft skills.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to behave professionally and with respect when dealing with clients verbally on the phone, and in person.
  • Understand that you are working within the confines of clients' premises and to take the utmost care to ensure property is not damaged.

Experience (preferred but not essential):

  • Previous experience with working at heights – e.g., roofing, gutter installation.
  • Previous experience with cleaning of glass or other surfaces – e.g., window cleaning, soft/pressure washing.
  • Previous experience with electrical contracting – e.g., solar installation or electrical work.
