The Foundation raises critical funds to deliver exceptional patient care, innovative medical research, and clinical education on behalf of St Vincent's Healthcare, Victoria.


The Opportunity

The Senior Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing donor engagement plans and fundraising programs for St Vincent's in Victoria. Working with volunteers and Foundation colleagues, the Philanthropy Manager will build meaningful relationships with donors, cultivate and solicit contributions, and manage a portfolio of 65-80 major donors and prospects.

  • Design and deliver donor cultivation strategies
  • Personally manage a portfolio of 65–80 major donors and prospects (giving $10k+)
  • Engage donors with compelling giving propositions aligned to St Vincent's strategic priorities
  • Research, draft, and deliver fundraising materials, including cases for support and stewardship reports
  • Build internal relationships with clinicians, executives, and hospital leaders to support donor engagement
  • Represent the Foundation at donor events
  • Support major donor care, including after-hours engagement when required
  • Lead collaborative fundraising projects that align with organisational goals
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the Foundation's database
  • Promote the Foundation as a trusted strategic partner in philanthropy
  • Contribute to broader fundraising efforts and Foundation-wide initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and legislative requirements
  • Role model values aligned with Catholic Social Teaching and the St Vincent's Health Australia Code of Conduct

About You

You are a proven leader in major gifts and/or philanthropic campaigns, with a reputation for building trust, cultivating high-level relationships, and delivering results.

  • Personal integrity and commitment to the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience in philanthropy, major gift development, and fundraising campaign management in healthcare, education, arts, or research
  • Proven track record of fundraising campaigns and events that deliver value
  • Strong relationship, networking, and communication skills with diverse donors
  • Proven success leading major gift fundraising and campaign strategies
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical or research information to philanthropic audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with gravitas to engage donors and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, detail-oriented with a strategic mindset
  • Experience with donor CRM systems (preferably Raiser's Edge NXT) and managing donor pipelines
