Overview

Join to apply for the Specialised Carer - Residential Carer role at HammondCare.

HammondCare Darlinghurst is currently looking for Casual Specialised Carer Residential Carers to join our team. With our unique model of care which places the residents' needs as your number one priority, you will help create a home away from home for our residents. This role requires you to provide tailored care including personal support within the residential home.

To be successful in this role, you will be supported by an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, buddy shifts, and guidance from experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site.

Responsibilities
  • Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting, etc.
  • Provide life engagement for residents
  • Support residents with levels of dementia
  • Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions within your skills and competencies
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will
  • Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people and want to make a difference in their lives
  • Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights and weekends
  • Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
  • Have knowledge and experience of people living with dementia and their needs
  • Applicants with Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably
