About the facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

About the role

To provide outstanding levels of customer service to Patients, Clients and Visitors to University Hospital Geelong, whilst providing clerical support to the patient billing & collection functions of the Patient Accounts office. Key responsibilities include:

• Collect and record patient details in Barwon Health's Patient Management System
• Process admissions, discharges, and transfers for ward, theatre, and contract patients
• Perform private health insurance checks and provide cost estimates and Informed Financial Consent
• Prepare and manage admission paperwork, including for day surgery and theatre bookings
• Liaise with patients and families to ensure all admission documentation is complete and compliant
• Send patient notifications and provide pre-operative fasting instructions
• Support Admission Election processes, ensuring patients understand their rights
• Provide clerical support to front office and accounts teams as needed
