The Role
This position operates under a dual reporting line to the CEO and Head of Business and Operations. It is a senior leadership role with responsibility for finance, administration, and corporate services. You'll proactively lead a team of 15 and play an active role in executive decision-making, strategic planning, and organisational development. Our group of companies operates nationally with an annual turnover of $45M.
The role is responsible for financial management and reporting, administration and compliance, working closely with the leadership team to drive sound governance and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
Lead all financial operations, including statutory reporting, audits, payroll, budgeting, and compliance.
Oversee administration, contract management, and corporate governance.
Ensure GTO compliance with audits, registrations, labour hire licensing, and apprentice and trainee administration across multiple states.
Manage internal controls, risk, and reporting systems.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, policies, and procedures.
Build relationships with auditors, government agencies, RTOs, and employer partners.
Contribute to strategic planning and operational leadership.
Selection Criteria
Minimum 7+ years of experience in a CFO or similar lead finance role.
CPA (or equivalent), with a degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of finance, compliance and administration systems.
Experienced in managing teams and multi-disciplinary operations.
Experienced in contract and financial negotiations.
High level of discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Exceptional accuracy, organisational skills and time management abilities.
Willingness to travel interstate as required.
Willingness to obtain and maintain required employment screening checks.
Experience in NFP, GTO or VET sectors.
Multi-state compliance experience.
