The Role

This position operates under a dual reporting line to the CEO and Head of Business and Operations. It is a senior leadership role with responsibility for finance, administration, and corporate services. You'll proactively lead a team of 15 and play an active role in executive decision-making, strategic planning, and organisational development. Our group of companies operates nationally with an annual turnover of $45M.

The role is responsible for financial management and reporting, administration and compliance, working closely with the leadership team to drive sound governance and operational performance.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead all financial operations, including statutory reporting, audits, payroll, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Oversee administration, contract management, and corporate governance.
  • Ensure GTO compliance with audits, registrations, labour hire licensing, and apprentice and trainee administration across multiple states.
  • Manage internal controls, risk, and reporting systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Build relationships with auditors, government agencies, RTOs, and employer partners.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational leadership.
Selection Criteria
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in a CFO or similar lead finance role.
  • CPA (or equivalent), with a degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of finance, compliance and administration systems.
  • Experienced in managing teams and multi-disciplinary operations.
  • Experience in contract and financial negotiations.
  • High level of discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Exceptional accuracy, organisational skills and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel interstate as required.
  • Willing to obtain and maintain required employment screening checks.
  • Experience in NFP, GTO or VET sectors
  • Multi-state compliance experience
