It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role to join the Silverchain team in the Kempsey NSW 2440 area.

Job Description

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services and personal care to support their independence and quality of life.

We are looking for people who:

  • Can stay calm when challenges arise and recover quickly from setbacks
  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help

In addition, you will need:

  • An Open class Australian Driver\'s Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in aged care
The role

You will provide home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping

You will also provide personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • Assisting clients to take their medications
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, including dementia
  • Providing social and emotional support
  • Providing transport to activities or appointments
  • Helping the family carer to have a break
