In this leadership role, you will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and governance of multiple engineering and ICT programs within the Defence Engineering and Secure Networks (DESN) domain. You will ensure alignment with Defence capability objectives, managing cross-functional teams, and driving the delivery of secure, resilient and scalable networked systems across classified environments.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the DESN portfolio, ensuring delivery of complex engineering and ICT projects within scope, budget and schedule.
- Develop and maintain portfolio roadmaps aligned with Defence strategic priorities and capability lifecycle.
- Oversee governance, risk management, and compliance across all DESN initiatives.
- Coordinate with Defence stakeholders, contractors, and technical teams to ensure integration and interoperability of systems.
- Ensure alignment with Defence Capability Lifecycle, ICT policies, and cyber security frameworks.
- Support workforce planning, mentoring, and development of engineering and project staff.
- Significant experience in Defence portfolio or program management, with a proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams across secure ICT and engineering domains.
- Strong understanding of Defence procurement, capability lifecycle, and technical regulations.
- Experience with secure network systems, DBSTP platforms, and classified environments.
- High-level stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Bachelor degree qualifications in Engineering, ICT, Project Management or related discipline.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Valid driver's licence.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
