Details: The Climate Change, Energy and Water Division is seeking a technical officer to deliver programs that help the ACT become more sustainable and energy efficient. This role will provide technical advice to complex buildings including multi-unit and mixed use developments.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide technical advice and support for businesses, government and/or complex buildings in relation to energy efficiency and gas transition to meet program outputs and outcomes. Duties include:

  • effective program planning and delivery
  • stakeholder liaison
  • communication, reporting, and high-quality administration and representation skills

Some after-hours work and weekend work will be required.

The ACT remains a national leader in addressing climate change and promoting sustainability. The Climate Change, Energy and Water Division delivers a comprehensive set of policies, programs, and community engagement activities to reach net zero emissions by 2045. This work is done in collaboration with all sectors including government, non-government, business, community, and households. Eligibility / Other Requirements
  • Occasional weekend work will be required.
  • A current ACT or equivalent driver's licence may be required.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
