In this role you will develop web applications that will positively impact the experience of millions of Australians. Working with high profile clients and programs of work, you will gain exposure to a range of leading development practices.
Your key responsibilities
We're looking for a smart, proactive PHP web developer to write code, manage infrastructure and provide technical skills for clients across Australia. Our projects include a range of tier 1 corporate clients as well as Government and you will be responsible for working with large and small development teams in an agile manner to deliver outstanding solutions for our clients. Key responsibilities:
- Deliver using Agile methodologies for software development and documentation.
- Develop using PHP and maintain backend services using web API and SQL technologies.
- Contribute to Software Development and produce high-quality code.
- Automate build and deployment scripts.
- Peer reviews of code and scripts.
- Develop/manage cloud-based applications using Azure and AWS, GCP.
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders and manage priorities to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Propose and implement improvements to processes.
- Manage and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Resolve client requests in a timely manner based on agreed delivery dates
- Maintain quality documentation
- Escalate any project issues needing attention to Project Managers and Engagement Lead
- Prepare for client meetings, including review and knowledge of current and backlog tickets
- Assist in the preparation of new proposals or pitch decks for prospective clients
Core skills that you will bring to EY:
- PHP development experience in custom applications
- Drupal web development experience
- Understand Drupal's API and hook system
- Experience managing codebase with Git
- Knowledge of web security best practices and the ability to implement them in Drupal
- SQL experience
- Microservices architecture
- Ability to administer cloud infrastructure including Ms Azure, AWS experience
- Devops experience including management of code in GIT
- Optional – Front end experience using HTML/CSS/Vanilla JS/React/Angular
