Secondary Legal Studies/Commerce Teacher

Permanent Education Recruitment Consultant position for a Year 10 Legal Studies and Commerce teacher to join a senior school in Caroline Springs, Melbourne's West. This 0.8 FTE position runs from now until the end of the year, with the possibility of extending into the new year.

Base pay range: A$79,000.00/yr - A$118,000.00/yr.

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Year 10 Legal Studies and Commerce lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering topics such as criminal and civil law, legal systems, Business Management, Economics, and Accounting.
• Design, administer, and evaluate both formative and summative assessments to measure student learning, providing constructive feedback and reporting progress to students, parents, and school leadership.
• Develop teaching materials, activities, and resources that promote critical thinking, real-world application, and inquiry-based learning.
• Integrate current legal and commercial events into lessons to make content relevant and engaging.
• Support students in building foundational skills for senior studies, including study strategies, legal reasoning, and practical applications of Commerce principles.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
• Collaborate with colleagues and subject coordinators to ensure consistency and quality in teaching practices, develop interdisciplinary projects, and share best practices.
• Participate in or lead co-curricular activities, clubs, or initiatives to enhance the overall student learning experience.

• Must have full Australian working rights
• Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
• Hold current VIT registration
• Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Legal Studies and Commerce within a Secondary school in AU/NZ
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
• Commencing as a part time 0.8- 4 days a week, position starting from now until the end of the year with possible rollover into 2026
• Instructing students in year 10 in Legal and Commerce
• Engaging with accessible and transparent leadership
• Contributing to the planning and coordination
• Salary commensurate with demonstrated expertise and time commitment
