About The Role

Where would you fit?

As Chief Technology Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the technological backbone of a business that's redefining hospitality through innovation. Reporting to the CEO, this hands-on role involves leading engineering, integrations, cyber, dev-ops teams, AI adoption, and working closely with the broader Doshii team, x15ventures, CBA, app and POS partners, and venues to ensure our technology remains robust and future-ready.

You will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and optimising the Doshii Platform, products & services, overseeing API management, partner integrations, and the safe, effective use of AI. Your remit spans engineering management, supporting partner write-ins and write-outs, and collaborating with the Leadership Team across various domains.

This pivotal position requires both strategic leadership and a willingness to be hands-on, ensuring technology solutions are well-aligned with business objectives and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Effectively manage multiple teams to design and deliver new features and enhancements to our products and services, build and maintain our 70+ integrations and keep Doshii safe, secure and running efficiently
Manage a team dispersed across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and remote NSW.
Help teams prioritise production support issues and ensure we maintain our SLAs.
Prioritise the API backlog in conjunction with business strategy and priority integrations.
Proactively manage resourcing, budgets, prioritisation and delivery activities to optimise time to market and financial outcomes.
Effectively manage stakeholders from x15 Ventures and CBA, with the understanding that there are certain benchmarks, policies and activities that Doshii must adhere to
Work closely with x15 Workplace to ensure Doshii's workplace tools are fit for purpose and meet the needs of our business.
Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage and align with the company's strategy, including bring new AI use cases to market.
Oversee system infrastructure and architecture to ensure functionality and efficiency.
Build quality assurance and data protection processes.
Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance.
Make executive decisions regarding our company's technological needs.
Design, implement and monitor Doshii's disaster recovery plan
Develop and implement networking safeguards.

Experience

Previous work experience as a Chief Technology Officer or another similar leadership role, generally with 7-10+ years practical industry experience
Experience in the following tech stack.
Must have: Kotlin, Python, SQL, Typescript, Docker
Essential: React.js, Node.js, AWS Serverless
Desired: .Net, Swagger/ Open API
A team player comfortable working collaboratively with various business domains
Passionate about leveraging AI to drive tech uplift and business objectives
Experience working in a startup environment and contributing to a startup team culture.
Experience working with a large corporate (not necessarily in it)
Comprehension of budgets and understanding of business planning
Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities across all levels of stakeholders
Strong delivery planning, forecasting and prioritization experience.
Able to conduct research and analyses of technology.
Strong technical design skills, you should be able to think about appropriate product design to communicate to the team through a range of methods which may include sequence diagrams
Experience in utilizing modern design and delivery methodologies like Agile and Human Cantered Design Thinking
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or another similar field
