The Role

Casual relieving positions are available within the Universal MCH program, aimed at providing flexible, family-focused services to maximize the health potential of children from birth to 6 years old and their families. The role emphasizes high-quality, evidence-based practice with a focus on strengthening parenting capacity and empowering families to make optimal decisions regarding their children's health and development.

The position adheres to the standards and frameworks of the Victorian MCH program (Dept. of Health) and involves home visiting, first parent groups, KAS assessments, and flexible service options. MCH nurses deliver health promotion through evidence-based education on topics such as breastfeeding, early learning, nutrition, and immunization, while contributing to quality improvement and research within the Family, Youth and Children's unit.

About You

We seek Maternal and Child Health nurses with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication with families, colleagues, welfare, and early years professionals.

Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse and registered midwife, along with a recognized postgraduate Maternal and Child Health qualification for employment in Victoria. A current Victorian driver's license and Working with Children Check are also required.
