Overview

Permanent full-time role (average 38 hours per week) as a Land Development Inspection Officer – Subdivisions with the City of Rockingham. The position involves inspecting subdivision civil engineering works to ensure compliance with construction, dust, noise and environmental management plans in accordance with relevant state and local regulations, and ensuring works are constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications to protect the interests of the Council and the community.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of subdivision civil engineering works to ensure compliance with construction, dust, noise and environmental management plans in accordance with relevant state and local regulations.
  • Ensure works are constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications to protect the interests of the Council and the community.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field (or demonstrated equivalent competency).
  • Completion of relevant asphalt and road construction training courses.
  • Experience and knowledge in a road inspection, maintenance or construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Civil engineering qualification or demonstrated construction experience relevant to land development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials and techniques specific to the delivery of subdivision infrastructure, including earthworks, roads and drainage.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising subdivision civil works to ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to coordinate and liaise with developers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
Salary and Benefits
  • Annual salary range of $99,138 - $106,623 per annum.
  • Superannuation matching up to an additional 5% contribution (total up to 22% superannuation).
