The opportunityAs a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will drive the strategic development and delivery of capital works, asset management, and land contamination compliance support in public open spaces. Leading a multidisciplinary team of Coordinators, you'll champion innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence in how Council plans, builds, and maintains its infrastructure.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the city's physical environment, ensuring our projects are safe, inclusive, and future-ready. From managing complex capital programs to implementing land contamination frameworks, your leadership will help create resilient spaces that serve our diverse communities with integrity and care.
What you'll be working on- Provide strategic leadership across capital projects, asset management, and infrastructure delivery
- Lead, mentor and empower a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compliant and community focused outcomes
- Oversee the implementation of land contamination frameworks for safe, sustainable public spaces
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation in infrastructure planning and service delivery
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align infrastructure outcomes with Council's strategic vision
- Represent Hobsons Bay in partnerships with government agencies, contractors and industry bodies
- Provide expert advice to Council, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on infrastructure priorities and risks
- Manage budgets, business plans and performance reporting to ensure accountability and alignment with Council objectives
You are a strategic leader who thrives in a complex, high-impact environment. You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field
- Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure and capital works
- Strong financial, contract and operational management capabilities
- Expert knowledge of asset management, project delivery frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience In driving change programs with a focus in partnering approach cross organisation
- A commitment to safety, sustainability and community-first infrastructure outcomes
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and solutions-focused leader to shape the future of infrastructure across Hobsons Bay. You'll oversee a diverse and high-impact portfolio spanning capital projects, infrastructure program support, asset management, and environmental compliance in public open spaces.
