About the Role

Based in our Kwinana fabrication workshop for a minimum 3-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend, Altrad are seeking a Senior Project Engineer and Project Engineer to deliver a major fabrication project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate engineering activities, maintain compliance with specifications and safety standards, and work closely with workshop teams and vendors to achieve critical project milestones.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate engineering activities to support successful delivery of the fabrication phase for a single major project.
  • Develop and manage the project's fabrication plan, including material specifications, welding procedures, and production schedules.
  • Liaise with workshops and vendors to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality workmanship.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, BOMs, and technical documents, escalating design or scope issues as needed.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to confirm compliance with client specifications, safety standards, and fabrication codes.
  • Champion safety, quality, and process improvements in alignment with company values.
About You (Qualifications)
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven experience in fabrication engineering within oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication tools, welding standards, and metalworking techniques.
  • Proficient in CAD software and project management tools.
  • Familiar with Australian Standards relevant to fabrication and construction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Welding Inspector or equivalent quality certification (highly regarded).
