We are seeking an appropriately experienced Senior Lead Workplace Relations for this full-time, 12-month fixed term position based at Doncaster. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at our Doncaster Headquarters in line with our hybrid working model.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director, Workplace and Employee Relations, this role is responsible for the provision of advice and undertaking work across an extensive range of employment matters, including advocacy in industrial tribunals, Fair Work Commission, interpreting and implementation of enterprise agreements, risk and change management, dispute resolution and litigation and providing advice on a broad range of employee-related matters and processes. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Work closely with key stakeholders and HR practitioners to resolve complex workplace issues with the primary focus on workplace and industrial relations, providing guidance and direction in line with policy
  • Provide strategic, evidence-based advice and recommendations on workforce issues relevant to AV and the sector more broadly
  • Provide expert advice on an extensive range of workplace and industrial matters and assist in the interpretation and implementation of enterprise agreements
  • Provide management, guidance and leadership based on advanced expertise to a team of workplace and employee relations professionals
  • Represent and advocate for AV in various industrial tribunals including the Fair Work Commission and the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission
  • Proactively build and maintain robust relationships with peers and senior executive management within and external to AV, and with key stakeholder groups such as relevant unions

About You

The successful candidate will have a completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification in Human Resources or Law with extensive relevant industrial and employee relations experience, or an equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant experience. Additional requirements include but not limited to:
  • Demonstrated professional expertise and experience providing authoritative, expert industrial advice to senior levels of a public sector organisation
  • Demonstrated experience influencing, negotiating, and collaborating constructively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Employee Representatives and Government Agencies, to identify and implement solutions and achieve measurable outcomes
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial instruments, principles, and frameworks together with experience as an industrial relations advocate before the Fair Work Commission
  • Established management and leadership experience
