About The Role

International SOS is looking for a Regional Security Director based in Sydney to assist our security advisory, crisis management, intelligence analysis, and incident response services for clients. You would be a trusted risk advisor providing close assistance to a wide range of organisations, as well as helping commercial teams to develop and grow our capabilities.

Key duties
  • Be the senior security expert and partner to our ANZ commercial team.
  • Engage directly with clients to deliver intelligence analysis, country risk and crisis management & response services to help them prepare for and respond to global risks, such as political violence, crime, geopolitics and natural hazards.
  • Support our commercial teams to articulate our capabilities and services during new business opportunities.
  • Represent International SOS at industry forums, speak to media and speak at a variety of risk events.
  • Contribute to strategic service planning, client retention, and thought leadership regarding workforce & business resilience services.
  • Collaborate across global security and commercial teams to support clients.
About You

You Will Have

  • A degree in areas such as security, risk management, international relations, politics, law enforcement, or disaster management. A master's degree in such an area is helpful but not essential.
  • 10 – 15 years of experience in intelligence analysis, risk management or client advisory services, in government, national security, corporate or NGO environments.
  • A high level of interest in global affairs, geopolitics and country and travel risk.
  • Proven abilities to engage with client stakeholders, such as by presenting and briefing in written and verbal forms.
  • Confidence working across cultures and communicating internally and externally to senior and junior stakeholders.
  • A background in international environments – through your work or previous assignments.
  • A high level of fluency in spoken and written English, meaning that you could speak on a webinar, write an intelligence assessment for a client, or help develop a commercial proposal.
  • Some commercial acumen and experience.
  • The ability to travel within Australia and to New Zealand regularly, and occasionally internationally.
  • The availability to support clients and operations outside regular hours occasionally, such as during major global security events, or when working with global teams.
