Principal Consultant

Principal Consultant - Intergovernmental Finance role at Department of Education, Western Australia. This is a permanent full‑time position commencing ASAP.

• The Principal Consultant oversees the budget maintenance, monitoring and reporting requirements of Commonwealth funded projects, ensuring close liaison with program managers.
• They assist the manager with the annual preparation of Commonwealth financial compliance and reporting requirements, including preparation of the annual acquittal and compliance certification under the Australian Education Act and Commonwealth‑State funding agreements.
• If successful you will prepare reporting and ensure monitoring requirements are met for Royalties for Regions (RFR) programs by maintaining close liaison with program managers and assist budget holders to manage RFR budgets and meet acquittal requirements.
• Additionally, this role will require you to research, prepare and review briefing papers, correspondence, confidential reports and parliamentary and ministerial responses on behalf of the Director.
