Responsibilities
  • Work in Emergency and Critical Care and participate in a learning-focused environment to develop ECC nursing skills.
  • Nurse patients with conditions such as DKA, MODS, and GDV; manage patients with central lines, high-flow oxygen, ventilators, feeding tubes, all supported with digital systems and Smartflow.
  • Follow a structured training plan with initial orientation shifts, shadow shifts, and induction modules; receive dedicated mentoring from an ECC nurse trainer and your manager to tailor your development plan.
  • Provide compassionate care to pets and their families, collaborating with a team of veterinarians, nurses, and animal attendants.

  • Flexible rostering to achieve work-life balance; no on-call shifts. Shift lengths vary from 9 to 12 hours, across mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Penalties apply to all shifts.

Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Applicants currently studying their Certificate IV will be considered.
  • Proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anaesthesia monitoring is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster.
