The purpose of the Technical Applications, Solutions & Food Technologist Specialist position is to contribute expert technical knowledge and practical solutions that enable the TECHNICAL GROUP to achieve its objectives. This role plays a key part in supporting MULTIVAC's internal teams and external clients by developing and delivering innovative packaging, processing, and value-adding solutions. Through the application of food technology principles, project management skills, and cross-functional collaboration, the role ensures customers receive expert guidance and fit-for-purpose solutions that enhance food safety, extend shelf life, and improve operational outcomes. Ultimately, this position supports MULTIVAC's commitment to delivering exceptional service, driving innovation, and strengthening our competitive edge in the market.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical advice on food technology, packaging, processing, and preservation solutions.
  • Configure MULTIVAC equipment including Thermoforming, Traysealing, Chamber Machines, Slicing, and MUMI systems.
  • Manage technical projects from concept to installation, including stakeholder coordination, timelines, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Support the Sales Team by developing tailored solutions, conducting product trials, and attending customer meetings.
  • Prepare and respond to tenders, including interpreting requirements, gathering information, and drafting responses.
  • Design equipment and line configurations using CAD and other performance tools.
  • Conduct machine, packaging, and shelf-life trials to validate applications and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in equipment installations and commissioning, including planning, freight coordination, and onsite setup.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, MULTIVAC Germany (MUWO), and partner agencies to deliver aligned solutions.
  • Transfer knowledge and best practices across regions to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Create process documentation, layouts, and technical drawings to support project delivery.
  • Communicate technical developments and requirements with engineers, management, and suppliers.
  • Provide backup support within the Technical Group during team absences, including quoting and enquiry follow-ups.
  • Offer strategic technical input to strengthen MULTIVAC's competitive position.
  • Ensure all solutions contribute to MULTIVAC's goal of delivering exceptional service and expert advice to clients.

Relationships and Authority:

  • Reports directly to the National Technical Manager.
  • Works collaboratively with members of the TECHNICAL GROUP.
  • Closely supports and interacts with the Sales and Service Teams across Australia.
  • Maintains regular professional communication with overseas-based equipment suppliers and partners.
  • Operates as a key contributor within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Expected to represent the TECHNICAL GROUP and MULTIVAC professionally in all internal and external interactions.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Specialist experience within a technically related role.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as autonomously is essential.
  • Ability to cope with multiple tasks and a high intensity work environment is necessary.
  • Must be thorough, accurate & reliable and able to conform to SOP's.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Positive attitude is a must.
  • Driver's license required.
