Job Description

About the job…

We are seeking a highly motivated Handyperson to join our busy Engineering team. You will be involved in many areas of the hotel with the overall aim of maintaining the building and all areas within the hotel to the highest standards. This is a permanent part-time position, with a minimum guaranteed 24 hours per week.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the maintenance supervisors in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotel.
  • Handling all aspects of maintenance including some painting, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, tiling, odd jobs, and project work.
  • Responding to a range of guest requests as a first priority.
  • Servicing plant and general equipment as directed.
  • Maintaining all painted areas in good order.
  • Ensuring all maintenance for room moves & guest arrivals are actioned appropriately.
  • Completing tasks as part of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained, used, and stored correctly.
  • Using energy and water resources effectively.
  • Assisting team members in completing their duties.
Qualifications

About you…

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Previous guest/customer service experience to engage with guests.
  • You will have unlimited work rights in Australia.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays to meet guest needs.
  • A trade qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • You will be self-motivated, highly organized, and enjoy being in a hands-on environment.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • You will be a team player and display a friendly and positive can-do attitude.
  • Having energy, a positive attitude, a genuine customer service focus, and a dedication to attention to detail will make your application stand out.
