Overview

Education & Training Officer at Serco is based in the Inmate Services team at Lavadia Correctional Centre, Northern NSW. This role supports the education and training outcomes for inmates through coordination and facilitation of education programs, working with trainers, stakeholders and inmates to ensure smooth delivery of educational services.

Responsibilities
  • Support the assessment of inmate education needs and assist with the delivery of courses
  • Manage education schedules and coordinate resources for teachers and trainers
  • Maintain learning management systems, including Moodle and inmate databases
  • Facilitate communication between inmates and external institutions, including enrolments and exam invigilation
  • Oversee inmate library operations, IT resources, and creative education rooms
  • Ensure documentation and compliance standards are met for all education activities
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Certification in Education, Training, or Administration (desired, not essential) with the ability to undertake if required
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management) or completed within the first 12 months of employment
  • Experience in providing education, training, or administrative support in a team environment
  • Experience in performing a range of education or administrative functions, including the compilation of statistical data
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining computerised and manual information and recording systems
  • Experience in providing accurate and high-quality data and record-keeping protocols
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
