Overview

Principal Engineer - AI Scale-Up An exciting venture-backed AI startup is scaling fast and looking for a Principal Engineer to join their core engineering team in Melbourne.

This is a chance to get in early with a business that's already working with global enterprises and backed by top-tier investors. Their platform is transforming customer experience at scale; automating voice, chat, and email interactions while surfacing insights that save companies millions and drive new revenue.

As Principal Engineer, you'll be completely hands-on: shaping the product roadmap, solving complex technical problems, and scaling AI-driven solutions that directly impact enterprise customers worldwide.

What You'll Bring
  • Heavy on the tools with deep Python experience
  • Proven experience at Principal Engineer/Technical Lead level
  • A self starter who has the ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of product & stack
  • Experience in start-up or scale-up environments
  • Experience working on high traffic software
  • Experience solving & overcoming difficult, significant problems and to deliver results (for customers).
Bonus
  • Typescript, React & AWS experience
  • AI (LLM) engineering and building intelligent systems (advantageous)
The Offer

Salary: $250-$300k + Super + ESOP (DOE)

Flexibility: Melbourne - maximum 1-2 days per week in office
